Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli

I have yet to finish this book, but I STRONGLY reccommend it for anyone who is even mildy interested in Miyazaki's works, or how animation is done. This guy doesn't dance around or use lame puns to appeal to the general public. This is the real deal without any diluting.

First off, I will not be able to say as much as I want so again, for more information on Miyazaki, read the above book.

To those new to Miyazaki, the easiest and quickest way I can explain him is as the Japanese Walt Disney. However, after just watching Peter Pan and Aladin within 3 hours of writing this, I can attest to Miyazaki having more of a knack for creating an engaging world as well as connectable characters that draw on multi layered lessons of how the world is rather than a straight forward Disney plot.

Miyazaki is a director that strongly believes in the wisdom of children, which can be seen in Naussica, Castle in the Sky, as well as Spirited Away. After watching a few films there is a strong sense of nature as a presence and as a living entity as well as an obsession with flight and flying machines.
