Noir

Noir is a rather unknown from what I've been able to find out and what seems to be available. Now there is an english dub to the series that wasn't around when I was watching. From what I've seen the dub does well, but the Japanese dub is superior even if you watch with subs.

Noir is not particularly about philosophy and is more story based as well as genre pushing. The particular genre, the aptly named 'girls with guns' theme plays throughout as we follow two assassins on their quest to reclaim their past memories. Looking back on this, there is a little bit of Jason Bourne feel but without quite as much improve weapons. The action is great and better than what I imagined for something gun based. After all, just how many times can you make a shoot out interesting over an entire series?

The art was what really drew me into this series. Also closed and about 25 episodes, there was a ... softness. There is a lot of care in how the characters move and look. The plot is...ok, nothing shattering, and something that is repeated at the beginning of almost every episode. However, much like Cowboy Beebob, this series definitely has a style with it that plays out very well.
