She and Her Cat

This is Makoto Shinkai's beginnings as an animator. This short 5 minute film won a small festival and turned some heads and now he's where he is now. I'd talk more about it, but it's a 5 minutes youtube video. You can just watch it and understand why it is beautiful. The only version ever is english subtitles, so I'd suggest watching it once reading, and then again watching.
